Recoaro reserves a culinary surprise of a German origin, due to the origin of the beyond-the-Alps inhabitants of the mountain arch between Lessinia of Verona and the Alto Vicentino. The first news of the settlement of the inhabitants from the Bavarian valleys among the mountains of the Veneto region dates back to the eleventh century.

Many centuries later the Germanic influenced dialect of the ancient inhabitants of the valley of Recoaro is gone, but their memory remains in the names of places and families, as well as in the traditional cuisine, which is based on the typical mountain products.
