Beauty and variety in the landscape, a mild climate and a range of cultural and holiday offerings.

This is the district of the mountains of Vicenza, genuine park of the Veneto, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. The city of Vicenza is famous throughout the world for the architecture of Andrea Palladio, but all the surrounding district is studded with famous Palladian villas on a route that has always been a tourist destination.

But it's not just about architecture. The whole area, in fact, abounds in resources and attractions. The mountains of Vicenza lived through all 41 months of the Great War on the front line, thus becoming an open-air museum on the history of the conflict among its its trails, trenches, museums, finds and strongholds.

Of great appeal to snow aficionados is the whole area of the Little Dolomites and, for sportsmen and women, the possibility of enjoying many activities on the River Brenta in addition to trekking, Nordic walking, climbing and cycle routes.

The Terme di Recoaro, the many events that enliven the towns throughout the year, the natural resources and the concentration of a wealth of museums certainly make this land ideal for every kind of holiday.

Don't miss food and wine destinations either. The food in the Vicenza area has a wealth of masterpieces of flavour and genuine quality food and wine products. Here's a list: Bassano white asparagus, Marostica cherries, Vicenza salami, extra virgin olive oil, Veneto ham from the Berici and Euganean Hills, Asiago cheese, all with officially protected geographical status. There is also cod Vicenza style, grappa, fine wines, Berici black truffles, Lumignano peas.

A district to get acquainted with and to get to reveal itself.
